The beach in “December,” part 2

The next time we went to the beach the weather was much better.

On the way, we went through an intersection with an intriguing sign.

We already knew, however, that the refinery is all too viewable from many beaches and tracks (paths to you) around Whangarei Heads, so we didn’t go to the special viewpoint; we just took a picture of the bus shelter across the intersection, because New Zealand has lots of cute ones.

Then on to the tramp (that would be the hike), over hill and down dale

(mostly through cow pastures, with fresh hazards), to beach

and water, which doesn’t look very much like it does in the opposite corner of the Pacific.

We’re definitely spoiled.
