Peachy beaches

One thing we will really miss about living here is all the delightful beaches less than an hour away. Much as I love Oregon’s iconic coves, Northland has many more–and they’re mostly uncrowded (as in fewer than six people when we visit).

Today was Father’s Day, and while my seventh graders were taking their dads to the beach, I was proxy for my kids and took Rick to the beach. Or, rather, above the beach. We hiked along hillsides above lovely little beaches with the beautiful clear greenish-blue water of the South Pacific.

Part of the walk was through hillsides corduroyed by decades of grazing:

Along the way we saw this guy, whose sole purpose in life is to be a father.

    • I must confess–Rick took them all.
